What is AEO (Authorized Economic Operator)?

AEO is the international trusted-trader status — recognized by the World Customs Organization and adopted by the EU and many other countries — that designates importers, exporters, and supply chain operators who meet customs and security standards. The U.S. equivalent is CTPAT, and many countries have mutual recognition arrangements between programs.
