What is AMS (Automated Manifest System)?

AMS is the CBP system through which ocean and air carriers transmit manifest data — vessel, voyage, container, bill of lading — for inbound shipments to the United States. AMS data feeds the 24-Hour Rule and provides CBP its first look at what is heading to U.S. ports.
