What is Customs Broker?

A customs broker is a person or company licensed by CBP to file entries, classify goods, and arrange duty payment on behalf of importers. Brokers are required to exercise reasonable care, and the importer remains ultimately responsible for the accuracy of every filing — even when a broker prepares it.
