What is HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule)?

HTS is the general term for any country’s tariff schedule built on the international Harmonized System. In U.S. practice, “HTS” is most often used as shorthand for HTSUS, the U.S. version. Classifying products under the correct HTS line is one of the most consequential decisions an importer makes.
