What is Lacey Act?

The Lacey Act is a U.S. law prohibiting trade in plants, plant products, and wildlife taken in violation of any U.S. or foreign law. Importers of wood products, paper, and certain plant-based goods must file a Lacey Act declaration on entry, identifying the species and country of harvest.
