What is Less-Than-Truckload (LTL)?

LTL is a domestic trucking service for shipments too small to justify a full trailer. LTL freight is consolidated with other shipments, picked up at terminals, and routed through hub-and-spoke networks. It costs less per shipment than FTL but takes longer.
