What are Section 232 Tariffs?

Section 232 tariffs are duties imposed under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 on imports the President has determined threaten national security — most notably on steel and aluminum since 2018. Section 232 duties are stacked on top of normal HTSUS duty rates.
